Perfect Paper Crafting and Taylored Expressions Blog Hop!

Good Morning Everyone!!

I am excited to be part of a partnership between Taylored Expressions and Perfect Papercrafting! There is something about crafting tools that I just can't resist - and I especially loved working with the tearing tools that make it super fun and easy to add layers and textures to your card. I used the Perfect Tears 3 Tool Set to tear out my layers - it comes with an amazing refillable water pen - so that the tearing is much easier and softer and gives such a nice finished textured edge. You can see below all the fun kinds of tears that you can add to your crafted project!

I made a couple projects with the tearing tools:

For my first project - I created a little scene using Welcome Home stamp set from Taylored Expressions and the  Perfect Tears 3 Tool Set. I created the mountains with the larger triangular tearing edge and the grass was created using the smaller rounded tearing edge with different patterns of paper:

You can see the awesome texture that these tools give the card - both a soft and yet defined look because of the combination of the tearing with the water pen. I love the fun dimension that these add to the card :

Here is a little peek at how I used the tools to tear out the grass layer - using the smaller rounded egdge, I lined it with water from the water pen and then tore it downwards slowly. I kept doing this for all the layers and then adhered them together to create some soft rolling hills:

And in the same way, I also did the mountains... I worked on a Perfect Cutting Mat which was perfect for measuring, cutting and tearing:

I made this happy birthday card by tearing different patterned paper with the rounded curve tear and kept the center simple with a sentiment and a felted flower.

Here is a close up of the layers created by the tearing tool - such a great way to incorporate all your fun designer papers into a card:

I absolutely loved being able to create such a nice tear (sometimes when I used to do it by hand - it didn't always have an uniform look) - these tools allow for uniform tears that have both a defined edge and nice textured softness - perfect for layering it up for your next crafted project!!

Red and white are always classic, pair this gorgeous color combo with a color of YOUR choice! Make a statement or keep it muted, it's all up to you! Feel free to use the graphic as inspiration or not, we just want to see you flash a little red, white and "up to you" color on your creation! I used this stamp set: Making A Statement from Verve Stamps. I love this stamp set - it is seriously one of my favorite Verve!! There are so many possibilities for sentiments and the sweet flower is so much fun to layer up! I kept the card mostly blue and white and then used the red to pop out the hearts.

Page Maps Sketch July : Shine Bright

Hi Everyone,
If you ever need a little pick me up when you are crafting and can't seem to figure out where to start or feel overwhelmed - there is a fun blog called: PageMaps - that is fill of sketches and maps for both the scrapbooker and the cardmaker!

Today I am sharing with you this fun sketch from Page Maps that I used to make my card using the Shine Bright stamp set from Taylored Expressions that comes with a coordinating die to cut out the chandelier.

I love the sentiment: "Shine Bright" and so I thought I would use some brighter DPs and add some banners via the Party Banner die to follow the sketch. After stamping and die cutting the chandelier, I adhered it underneath where the two banners meet:

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Shine Bright (with coordinating die) from Taylored Expressions
Inks: Memento Rose Red Inks
Papers: MME and Choice SnowWhite cardstock
Accessories: Party Banner Border die, circle nestability, bling, stickles (waterfall), foam dimensionals, white gel pen

It was so much fun to play along with this sketch - and I loved die cutting this super cute chandelier! Please check out more of the sketches for cards Page Maps and more ways to use this stamp set in the TE Gallery for this Stamp set here.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
