Taylored Expressions & Faber-Castell Blog Hop!

Hi Everyone,

I am so excited to be part of the partnership between Taylored Expressions and Faber-Castell in today's blog hop! I love all of their amazing crafty tools and was able to play with some awesome Pastel Pencils (neutrals) and some Big Stamper's Brush Pens (3 count Blue) from Faber-Castell!

Mix & Match Pastel Pencils
Mix & Match Stamper's Big Brush (3 count  set of Blue)

For my first card I used both of the above pencils and pens to color my sentiment from the Chalkboard Elements stamp set:
I stamped the sentiment directly with the Stamper's Big Brush Pens by alternating each letter with a different color blue - I LOVE this look!

After stamping the sentiment: "wishing you" onto the banner from the set in alternating ink colors - I created some shadowing to the banner by using the Mix & Match Pastel Pencils. I also colored in the flowers with these Big Brush pens as well as the sentiment: "all the best":

I love how easily the pencils blended in with each other. I shaded in the circle shape that I cut out of the circle nestie with the same pencils and then used the white pastel pencil to create a chalkboard effect on the black cardstock:

Here is another view of the card - I added some bling to the corners and also added some faux stitching to the circle nestie around the sentiment and flowers and finished it off by rounding the corner and adding some foam dimensionals to the sentiments and circle nesties:

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Chalkboard Elements and flowers from Nov. 2013 stamp of the Month: In the Garden
Papers: Black, Red and Blue cardstock
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Faber-Castell: Stamper's Big Brushes 3 ctd. Blue and Faber-Castell Pastel Pencils Neutrals
Accessories: Circle nesties, white gel pen, corner chomper, white bling, and foam dimensionals

I loved playing with these wonderful crafty pens and pencils and for my second project, I only used the three blue colors from the Stamper's Big Brush Pens (3 count, Blue) for coloring in the sentiment by alternating the colors on the letters as well as coloring in the different petals on the flowers with different colors of inks. I stamped the sentiments from the Milestone Marker stamp set from Taylored Expressions. I LOVE that you can alternate the colors so quickly and easily with the awesome big brush tips on these pens:

After alternating the letters with the inks, I stamped the sentiment and was really impressed with how it stamped - such a cool look!! Each of the flowers is stamped with these pens and then afterwards, I used some of the colors of the pens to shade in some of the colors - especially on the flowers and then I added some bling to the centers of the flowers -- & then kept adding some bling here & there (it was hard not to cover the whole card with bling :)!!
I made this card for my in-laws 50th anniversary (can you believe 50 years together -wow!) and can't wait to give it to them later this summer. Here is a close up of the card:
Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Milestone Markers and In the Garden (Stamp of the Month)

Inks: Faber-Castell: Stamper's Big Brushes 3ct. Blue
Papers: Taylored Expressions Choice Snow White and Teal cardstock
Accessories: Circle Nestabilities, bling, white gel pen, foam dimensionals, turquoise grosgrain ribbon and circle punches

Hi Everyone,

The  deluxe subscription to the KI kit will also come with the SOTM (with dies) along with all the ingredients in the Key Ingredients Kit! Seriously an awesome deal to get a monthly package of awesome crafty goodness!!

For my card today, I couldn't wait to use this sweet little sentiment: "Cute as a button" - I strung along some buttons with some twine next to the sentiment and mixed and matched the sweet papers in this KI kit for base of the card:

Here is another view of the card - I  added a little banner across the side of the card and finished it with a larger red button with some twine and bling in the center:

Card Ingredients:
Paper: April 2014 KI kit from Taylored Expressions

Verve Divas Inspiration Hop - April 2014

Welcome to Verve's April Diva Inspirations Hop. It's the 5th of the month and that means it's hopping time! This month we've got a fabulous challenge that's sure to put a string in your step! So in addition to a comment prize hidden along the hop, you can play along with the challenge and link up your creation for a chance to win another prize!

Our April challenge is Chic Chevrons:

Chevrons are the new polka-dots! Get groovy and use this popular pattern somewhere on your creation. Whether you draw inspiration from the graphic or zig-zag off on your own, just show us some chic chevrons!

I have so many chevron DP that I haven't used yet and so this was such a fun challenge! I kept my card kind of CASish and let the bold background do the talking :) The banner is from the  Remember This set and the sentiment I paired it with is from the awesome Bountiful Backgrounds stamp set.

I stamped the two pennants in the Remember This stamp set - cutting out the inner one and then crimping it and popping it over the larger pennant. I then added some butterflies and finished it off with some butterflies and white gel pen and ribbon:

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Remember This set and Bountiful BackgroundS
Inks: Memento Rich Cocoa and Distress Broken Glass
Papers: Kraft and scrap DP
Accessories: EK success border punch, MS butterfly punch, paper crimper, photo corner rounder, white gel pen, foam dimensionals and stickles

Need a little inspiration? Check out the blogs linked below to see what the other Divas did with the challenge! It's sure to be a treat, and speaking of treats, we've got a prize for one lucky commenter along the hop! Check out the Verve Blog today for all the prize info and deadlines.
