Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #34 - "Oceans 11"

Good Morning Everyone,

Happy Saturday! I am so excited to share with you that this week for the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge - we have picked the movie: Ocean's 11 as our featurette! I a-d-o-r-e this movie - (aside from the hot Clooney-Pitt eye candy duo :) I loved the clever writing, the witty banter, the awesome music, the eye candy galore, Clooney in a suit (yum!), Pitt and his sunglasses (yum!) and the list goes on.....

Ever since I first saw this movie (the 2001 version) - I was totally charmed by the Clooney-Pitt duo and the was totally loving what director Steven Soderbergh did with this all-star cast - seriously LOVED ever moment of this movie. For my card, I went with the charm aspect and how Julia Robert's character is George Clooney's missing link - and that in the end he wasn't just pulling the heist of the century for the sake of the money but also for love - hence the sentiment: You are my Lucky Charm...

Card details:
Paper: Taj Mahal Paper Pack, Paper company (gold and black)
Stamps: Just Rite stamp set  - Times Roman
Ink: Stazon On Black
Accessories: Crystal Effects, Paper BLiss accents, ribbon and brads from stash
Shows Watched: Rescue Me on Hulu

I had a lot of fun making this card - and hope that you have a chance to play along with this movie challenge of Ocean's 11 -  you can check out all the details on our challenge blog: Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge.

Spring Spectacular kits from Taylored Expressions!!

Hi Everyone,

Are you having a great week so far - mine is flying by! I can't believe its almost friday (I guess when you have a monday off - then the whole week seems so much shorter!

Today, I am totally psyched to participate in the Taylored Expressions Spring Spectacular Blog Hop! You have probably heard me mention Taylor's awesome kits that she puts together to make cardmaking easier and fun - well - she has done it again - Taylor has put together some really FABU Key Ingredients kits at an incredible discount! All of these kits are limited quantity at the Taylored Expressions store!!! and are slightly different from her regular Key Ingredients kits! For more information about these kits check out Taylor's blog post.

There are 4 kits that Taylor is bringing out today: the Brilliant kit, the Dazzled kit , the Delighted kit and the Enchanted kit. My cards today feature the papers and elements from the Enchanted Kit - I had soooo much fun working with this kit because of all the fun extras that come with it - from the ready to go die cuts, to the fabulous ribbon and the super cool transparencies. Here are a few cards that I made using these elements :

This card shows a fun die cut frame, die cut flower and sentiment all ready to go - a really great feature about this card was that it was so easy to assemble. I also used some buttons , some brads and some bling from the Taylored Expressions store. Here is a second card from the same kit:

This one was alot of fun to work with because of the transparent flower image. I cut two sheets of the paper included in the kit in half for the card and then used the circle die cut with the flower in the middle for the center and then i popped the flower transparency on top of the circle die cut with a dimensional and then covered the dimensional with a button. The sentiment is from the Year of Sweet Sentiments from the Taylored Expressions store.

This last card was so much fun to make! These kits are so easy to pair with all my Taylored Expression stamps! I used the frame die cut and used one of the cutest cuppies from the Year of Sweets 2 - whom I paper pieced and colored in with my prismacolor pencils.

There are seriously a TON of paper choices in this kit! There are so many more papers and ribbon that I still have left over and - its ka-ra-zy that all of this is one kit!!! These papers can be used for so many occaisions and are so versatile! And Taylor is selling all of these kits for a spectacular discount ($12.95) and there are only a limited quantity of each kit (it will not be restocked!!)- so make sure you check them out at the Taylored Expressions store. Also check out the cards and crafts from the other 3 kits that are also being offered in this Spring Spectacular celebration designed by the uber talented girls from the Baker's Dozen Design Team :)

Stampin Out Alzheimer's - Scrapbook Challenge

Good Morning Everyone,

Hope you had a wonderful weekend! You might have already heard about the huge even that my good buddy and fellow PaperCraft Planet Design Team member, Jen Tapler is hosting called Stampin' Out Alzheimers! Jen's father has Alzheimer's and this event that Jen is hosting is to raise awareness and money all of the proceeds which is donated to the Alzheimer's Associateion. For just a small fee of $5.00 you can join this forum where you will find a TON of challenges, free downloads and TON of prizes. The bar to the left shows you how you can enter and join this site.

Jen has asked the stamping community to help out and huge number of stamp companies and organizations has come forward to support!

One of the companies is Taylored Expressions and I am psyched to be the host of a scrapbook challenge that if you play along can win you a $25 Gift Certificate from Taylored Expressions.

Above is the sketch and below is a sample of the sketch that I made using Taylor's stamp set called Branching Out (paper pieced together). You can find this challenge of mine HERE and All you have to do is to play along is create a sample using this sketch and upload it to the Stampin' Out Alzheimers forum - but make sure to use the tag: scrappysketchte (all one word, all lowercase) so that I can manually put it into the album. From this - one lucky person will win this gift certificate to Taylored Expressions using!

***** If you use Taylored Expression stamps - you will be entered TWICE - so come on and play along!!!

I made this sketch for one of my dearest friends whose parents are at the early stages of Alzheimers. Her parents have been childhood sweethearts and it is hard to see them starting to lose their memory. I made this page and framed it to give it to her for her birthday on Friday - and the main sentiment is "Always" - that regardless of anything - that bond is always there - no matter what.... you can't see my journaling - it is written in light gray - I chose to write down the verse from the poet ee cummings that says: "here is the deepest secret nobody knows, (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud, and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows, higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide),and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart: i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)."

Watching my friend go through this with her parents has just shown to me how precious and fleeting this thing called life is - and to treasure each other - to treasure our connections because in just a flash - things can change. The above pictures are her parents, a family shot of her family and one with her and her parents. Here is a close up of the stitching and the detailing:
Page Recipe:
Paper: Basic Grey, Martha Stewart paper pack and scrap stash
Stamps: Branching Out from Taylored Expressions
Ink: Martha Stewart brown, Adirondack Expresso
Accessories: EK success border punch, tombow adhesive, silver marker, thickers, American Crafts thickers chipboard letters, red embroidery floss and needles for stitching,
Show watched while making this: Jane Austen's Persuasion (a new fave!)

I REALLLLLLLLY hope that you will play along with me in this challenge. This is my first scrapbook page that I created the layout for and I would be soooo happy if you were to play along!!! So here is what you have to do:

1. Register at Stampin Out Alzheimer's forum:
2. You can find my challenge there: Taylored Expressions Scrapbook Sketch Challenge
3. Create a scrapbook page with my scrappy sketch above and upload the picture
4. USE THE TAG: scrappysketchte (all lowercase all one word) the "te" at the end is for taylored expressions

This week over at the Christmas Stampin All Year Long blog we had a sketch challenge from Maria for week 18 of our weekly holiday card challenge! I am still on vacation right now - but didn't want to miss out from being part of this awesome blog - so I literally scrapped together some paper - got a cute little christmas tree at the nearby craft store and borrowed my MIL's scrap tools to create this little card - luckily the craft store had some liquid pearls - so I felt set! Its hard to craft in a space that's not yours - but I had fun doing this card - sorry for the poor lighting - I took this picture sunday night and will have to take another picture when I get home :)

Don't forget to check out all the other wonderful creations over at the Christmas Stampin All Year Long blog - we would love for you to play along!

Cinema Saturday #33 -Ever After

Good Morning Everyone,

Welcome to our 33rd Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge where this movie we are featuring the 1998 romantic fantasy movie Ever After with Drew Barrymore, Angelica Houston and Dougray Scott. The requirement for this week was to use flourishes.

For this challenge, I wanted to make something glittery and blingy - but had limited supplies (I am visiting my inlaws right now - so I wanted to make something quick too. I didn't have achance to paly with last week's 3D challenge hosted by PaperCraft Planet - and thought that it was perfect for this week's challenge to make a little Cinderella glass slipper. Today is also our 8th anniversary :) yay - so I was going to leave this little shoe on the steps with a note to where find the next clue :)

I loved watching the movie Ever After because of its playful and revised version of the fairytale. I love how learned Danielle is and her wit and repar with Prince was so refreshing. In making a card for this movie, I decided to not make a card - but to make Cinderella/Danielle's glass slipper. I tried with clear acetate - but had some problems - so I went with the glitter sheet route :) I love the shot of the glass slipper in the movie - it is such a beautiful shoe!! LOVE it - wish I had a few of those lying around !!! lol!

Making this shoe was last week's challenge at our our 3D Tuesday Challenges at Paper Craft Planet . You can check out some of the beautiful samples in the 3D Gallery at PCP for more inspriation on how to make these cute shoes!

I hope you all play along!!! This is such a great movie with so many lovely images from which to craft from!!! Thank you to our wonderful Guest designers Jaimee and Nellie who did such an amazing job with their Ever After creations!!

I hope you all have a chance to play along this week!! Please check out the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge blog for more details!

Sending you all hugs!

So I made a quick card using  Julee's Mojo Monday Sketch #87. I loved this sketch and couldn't wait to use the this stamp.

I know for sure that one of my friends is having a baby, the other two I am not sure about and there have already been two of my friends who have had their baby - but no card yet! So this one is dedicated to the little boy wee one who is due to make his appearance in a month! woohoo! I am excited for the baby shower :)

Card Details:

Get Well Soon Cards

Good Morning Everyone,

Here is a quick question that I have always had - how long does it take you to make cards? From start to finish?

For me, sometimes a card can an hour (partly because I am watching a movie and making a card, or making it in between making dinner and getting the kids ready for bedtime. So today, I was determined to make a card in 15 minutes! I set the clock and tried my best!  I tried it while making two get well cards that I made using my new fave stamp set -  Doctor's Order set from Taylored Expressions, which uses papers and ribbons from the March Key Ingredients set.

There have been a few of my friends who are under the weather due to seasonal allergies and so I wanted to replenish my get well soon card supply! Well, how did I do on my challenge... well, on the first card I made it took about 18 minutes from start to finish - which wasn't that bad! I had a lot of fun making this cute tissue box! LOVE it! Okay - seriously -  I am obsessed with this little tissue - box - I LOVE it... there is something so satisfying about stamping it and paper piecing it - love it!

And then I was so pysched to have made one quickie card - that I had to make another one! This time though it took probably like 30 mintes to make it - I think it was because of all the paper cutting, and paper piecing the bed sheet covers and then adhering etc.

I LOVE this second card - a little cuppie in bed! That's just such a cute image!!! Also It was sooo simple to make these cards because everything was already in the Key Ingredients package (cardstock, ribbon etc.) already comes with DP and matching cardstock.

So how long does it take you to make a card?

Thank you so muh for stopping in and checking my out my little corner :)!
Hugs to all!

Delight in the Season (A Taylored Christmas Mojo card)

Good Monday Morning Everyone,

I have begun to love Mondays! What??! Yes, its true - because I feel like I am accomplishing something :) Every week at the Christmas Stampin' All Year Round blog, there is a different challenge going on - so we can be on top of the holiday season - before the holidays! I seriously don't know how I feel about being organized before the holiday season - so not my style :) I already have 14 cards ( I missed a couple challenges - but I am making that up!) It feels great to add one to the Holiday box!

This week, Debbie has come up with a color challenge for us using the three colors Sage Shadow, Apricot Appeal and Chocolate Chip - what elegant colors all put together! I had a zillion ideas - but only time for one card (does that ever happen to you? if only there was more hours in the day to stamp for hours!)
For this week's card, I used Julee's awesome Mojo Monday Sketch #86 - loved those rectangles (flipped the sketch to make it vertical) and I paired it with a few stamps from Taylored Expressions. One of my favorite sets is the Branching Out stamp set - I love this tree - it is so whimsy yummy and I love that in the coordinating stamp set there are ornaments (along with fruit and flowers) that you can stamp to coordinate with it - so its the perfect tree for all seasons :) I used the Branching Out stamp set for the tree, the Branching Out coordinates for the squirrel and the christmas ornaments and the cupcake from the Home Sweet Home set and the sentiment from the Season's Sweetings set. It was so much fun to mix things up and splice together a card from all the different stamps :)

I stamped the tree image and then cut it up into thirds, matted it, and then started to ornament it with glitter :) It was so much fun to paper piece the squirrel and the cupcake on the swing :) And it was so much fun to add the liquid pearls to the card for snow and also on the swing (have you ever giggled while making a card - well, I was totally giggling while I was paper piecing this cute little cupcake and having the squirrel hold it! lol! I love the sentiment for this card: May your Season be filled with Sweet Delight:

I had so much fun making this card and the best part (aside from making the squirrel hold the cupcake) was to use up papers from my paper stash (which by the way is looking mighty full). I didn't have anything sage shadowy--- so I went with the closest green... this is a great color combo - can't wait to use it again!

Hope you have a chance to play along with us over at the Christmas Stampin All Year Round blog (its just a motivational way to inspire each other to get some cards cranked out before the holidays)!

Thanks so much for visiting my little blog corner :)
Lots of wishes for a HAPPY sunny week!!!

Feel Better Soon Card!

Hi Everyone,

Kristina has her 52nd Color Inspiration Challenge up - and wow! what a cool pic to draw the inspiration from (the picture comes from her blog reader Traci). I have to say - that I was psyched to see these colors - what a great color combo - it felt so retro urban chique (is that even a term?).

I couldn't wait to play along - and created a feel better soon card using Taylor's Friday Cupcake sketch #68 (which I turned counter-clockwise) and using Taylor's newest cutest release of stamps: Doctor's Orders. I love this set and these two are among my fave images (but they are all my fave :) - who can't resist cupcakes? And for some reason - I just can't get enough of this tissue box - it is just the cutest tissue box :)! - so I created a little row with some actual tissues in them :)

This whole card is an ode to paper piecing.. holy cupcakes - that was a lot of tiny cutting and paper piecing - does this ever happen to you... you are paper piecing something tiny and all of the sudden it drops to the floor - where there are hundreds of tiny scraps! Ack! Okay - that's what happened with these paper pieced pillows... I couldn't find them after I cut them - because they dropped on the floor and were in a sea of tiny scraps (yes, I need to clean my scrap corner floor more often :) but i finally found it - yay! I love the image of this cute little cupcake sitting in bed with a thermometer in his mouth!

Card Details:

Paper: All of it is from my scrap stash (I have been forcing myself to use something from my scrap stash in every card - but yet my scrap stash is still heaped high - how is that possible???
Stamps: Doctor's Orders from Taylored Expressions
Ink: More Mustard
Accessories: Spellbinders Nesties (Blossom), Rhinestones blue, dimensionals, Circle cutters from Creative Memories
Technique: Paper Piecing

I had a lot of fun with these colors - they were challenging and fun! Well, I am off to get some spring cleaning done! Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Thanks so much for visiting my little corner :)

TWILIGHT - Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #32

Alright all you Twilight lovers! This one is dedicated to YOU!

This week at Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge - we are featuring the hugely popular movie Twilight - which is based on the book series by Stephanie Meyers. The Twilight Saga has just taken the world by storm and it is amazing how huge of a cultural impact it has created globally. Every week, we pick a movie from which we draw inspiration in creating a card, layout, altered item, etc. And this was such a fun movie to do for that - there are a ton of different images and themes that you could do for this movie! And we hope that all of you play along!!!

The requirement this week was to use the colors black, red and sparkles - but you aren't limited to those colors. And even though we weren't limited - I just felt inspired by those colors and just kept the card to two colors. I love the cover of the book with apple in the hands - and the image of the apple and all the symbols evoked by the apple drew me in. So I created an apple card! :) Can I just tell you that I had SO much fun creating this card!!!

According to WikiAnswers: in the movie Twilight: the apple stands for the forbidden fruit - Bella is the fruit and her blood is forbidden to Edward. The whole notion of love transcending different forbidden interactions (vampire/human, etc.) was something that is just immemorial. They are both the apple of each other's eye - and so even though their love is forbidden - the purity of the love transcends any social convention and allows the walls that have been built up in their hearts to crumble. So I went with the sentiment: Apple of My Eye.

According to the author of the book Twilight, Stephanie Meyer, the apple for her represents the following: "The apple on the cover of Twilight represents "forbidden fruit." I used the scripture from Genesis (located just after the table of contents) because I loved the phrase "the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil." Isn't this exactly what Bella ends up with? A working knowledge of what good is, and what evil is. The nice thing about the apple is it has so many symbolic roots. You've got the apple in Snow White, one bite and you're frozen forever in a state of not-quite-death... Then you have Paris and the golden apple in Greek mythology—look how much trouble that started. Apples are quite the versatile fruit. In the end, I love the beautiful simplicity of the picture. To me it says: choice." -Stephenie Meyer

I downloaded this apple image and then cut it out on black cardstock . I also downloaded a
Twilight font and created the swirls and sentiment: Apple of my Eye, in Photoshop. After printing it out twice - I cut one up to match the apple shape and the other one, I cut out the swirls and adorned it with red crystal bling - along with one dot of crystal bling. I ran the red leaf through an embossing plate for texture and gave it a little black shading.

There are so many more ideas still floating about in my head - and I hope I have sometime this week to make another few cards!
I hope you will all play along with us!!! The Audrey recipient from this challenge, will be our next featured guest designer! YAY! So what are you waiting for!

Please check out the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge Blog for more details!!

See you at Twilight!
Thank you so much for coming over for a visit!!

With the Right Accessories... I can do Anything!

Good Morning Everyone!

I have to say that I just love this craft stamp designed by the artist Tara Reed that I got from JanLynn - it is called the Right Accessories - and its on sale right now! Who doesn't love a good sale!!! I know I do! I couldn't wait to use it :)
And I couldn't wait to play along with the uber talented girls at the Color Throwdown! Its been too long and I don't know how one week is blurring into the next these days! I was also wanting to use the sketch for at the Saturday Sketch at PaperCraft Planet. This week Jessica Flick is our hostess with the mostess and I was excited to put everything together :)

I used up papers from my scrap stash - yay! Even though, I am using it up - its still ridiculously full! And also some Basic Grey papers for accent. I threw in a fancy button that I have had stashed and a pearl for the purse :) I stamped it on the turquoise and and saffronish colored papers and then paper pieced it together - and use an xacto knife for the little details :) around the handle of the purse and then popped it on dimensionals - the ribbon - is also from stash :) yay!

I had a lot of fun making this card! Also because I love the sentiment - have you ever felt that way? Sometimes just wearing a hot pair of heels suddenly can make you walk with a bounce of joy :) Hope you have a chance to play along with these delicious colors and with this fun sketch!!!

Hope you are all having a fabu! kinda day!!!

Thanks for visiting my little corner :)

Carrying my Love for You :)

Good Morning Everyone :)

I finally had a moment to craft during this insane week at work - and was so happy to play along with awesome sketch#26 from Kazan and the lovely ladies at 2S4U (2 Sketches 4 You) and I was psyched to play along with the ladies at Cardvaarks - where this week's challenge was to create a card using a verse or quote. I simply love this sentiment that reads: "a hundred hearts would be too few to carry all my love for you." This goes out to one of my bff's, whose friendship has nourished and guided me through some difficult times. It was so much fun to make this card thinking of those wonderful moments of our friendship :)

Stamps: Verve: A hundred hearts
Paper: March Key Ingredients Kit from Taylored Expressions
Ink: Adirondack Expresso, Pumpin Pie, More Mustard and So Saffron
Ribbon: I LOVE this ribbon that looks like leaves - it all comes with the Key Ingredients kit from Taylored Expressions
Accessories: Liquid Gold Paint for the heart and dimensionals

I am so grateful for all the dear friends in my life and all the new wonderful friends that I have met in blogland! You are all truly treasured!!!

Lots of love and hugs!

Let It Snow (but not today :)

Good Monday Morning Everyone,

Hope ya'll had a great Mother's Day weekend!! Ours was very sweet, simple and lovely! And today - its time for another challenge from the Christmas Stampin All Year Challenge group - and today Vicki Garrett of Summerthyme Studio - has a fun challenge for us to add some blingy bling to our Christmas cards! Who doesn't love a little bit of bling! I know I do!

I pulled out one of my new fave craft stamps that I just got from JanLynn created by the artist Tara Reed - aren't these snowmen just so cute and lovely! This is called Cheerful Snowmen - and they totally make me smile! I love how happy they look and I especially love the little guy holding up the little present I used Jen's Sketch for You to Try and after coloring them, I covered them in Crystal Stickles and then dusted them with coarse crystals from Martha Stewart and now they are sparkly sparkly. I created little snow drops with some liquid pearls.  I added a little bling on the side and used the Let it Snow sentiment from Taylored Expressions

I am totally lovin' doing these challenges - I am never this organized with creating Christmas cards so early! I don't know what I am going to do with all my spare time around the holidays - maybe actually enjoy the season without that much stress about creating a bunch of cards :)

Hope you join us and create your holiday cards along with us!

Happy Monday Everyone - have a great week!

Ciao for now!

Happy Mother's Day - Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #27 - Steel Magnolias

This week, in honor of Mother's Day - we are featuring the movie: Steel Magnolias at the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge. Every week, we pick a movie and create a card/LO or altered project that is inspired by the movie (either from the costumes, dialogue, characters, music, etc.). This week's movie pick not only a movie about mother-daughter relationships -but also frienships and the strength of women - who are as tough as steel but as soft and beautiful as the magnolia flower.

I remember watching this movie a long time ago - and just laughing and crying - but somehow watching it this week as I gpt ready to make my card - I appreciated this movie at a whole different level. I think it is because this is the first time I am re-watching the movie after becoming a mother... and the experience was totally different. I feel like I understood SaField's role sooo muc more - and the scene with Julia Robetrts and her baby - when her husband comes home ( - that scene just had me in tears - I can't imagine something like that - and it was hard for me to watch that - because I was thinking of my little wee ones... I adore adore Sally Field in this movie - she is such an inspiration - and her relationship with her daughter in this movie is so real, perfect and wonderful.

So it was that relationship that I wanted to honor and I used Julee's awesome sketch from this week's Mojo Monday #85 for this card - along with her beautiful stamps from Verve. The sentiment is from the Because of You stamp set and the flowers are from the Wishful Elegance set. I absolutely Adore this sentiment - and thought it really captured the mother/daughter relationship between Sally Fields and Julia Roberts.

The papers are from Basic Grey, the buttons are from stash, the ink is Adirondack Expresso and the Pearls are from Kaiser. I had so much fun making this card, which I made as I watched Steel Magnolias again - and I have to say - that once the tears started - it was hard to get them to stop - Sally Fields soooo ROCKs that scene at the end -- and I just finished the movie so grateful and also so inspired and it brought back alot of memories from my childhood. One of my favorite memories with my mom is sitting by the window whenever it was a cloudy rainy day - with the windows open :) and she would drink her chai and I would drink hot milk with a spoonful of her chai in my cup! Even to this day - i LOVE cloudy days - and totally ache for a cup of chai as soon as the rains come!

I have to say that it wasn't until I became a mother -that the fullness of all that my mother had gone through and undergone really hit home. I have always always always adored, and admired my mother - she is my rock. And it was only when I held my first born that I truly understood that ache in a mother's heart --- it is an ache of love, of fierce protection, of letting go, of unconditional love -- a love so deep - that it can cut metal - a love so nourishing, that it can heal all wounds - a love so unbounded - that all sorrows melt into joy.

I only hope that I can be a quarter of the mother that my mom has been for me - she is truly inspirational and is the rock of my heart.

Please check out more details on our Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge and we hope that you play along!

Wishing each of you a wonderful mother's day!

Whose says pink isn't manly ??!

Hi All,

Kristina has her color challenge up and this week has challenged us with the following colors: brown, rose red, mustard yelllow and white. What a great group of colors!

So I pulled out the colors that I had and made a little man card using Taylor's Friday Cupcake Sketch #67 and the stamps from her newest release of stamps called Boys will be Boys. I loved using pink on a Father's Day card - who says a little pink isn't manly?

The sentiment reads: "There's no tie when it comes to you!" . Love the sentiment and the cute ties - all of which are paper pieced. Because it is a man card - and because I have a tendency to get all swirly, girly whirly - I left out some ribbon and tried to keep it simple and clean.

Hope all of you are enjoying a great weekend!

Happy Mother's Day!

Thank you so much for visiting my little corner :)
Ciao for now,

Taylored Expressions May Release DAY!!!

Good Morning Again Everyone!!

YAY! Today is release day over at Taylored Expressions - if you are reading this - then the store is officially open and there are a bunch of goodies in the store including everything flowery on sale for Mother's Day!!! But before you run over there - here are two more peeks from the two sets that are being released today: Doctor's Orders and Boys will Be Boys.

I made this card using Taylor's Friday Cupcake Sketch challenge #56 and this card is from the Doctor's Orders stamp set - and I just LOVE that the little Cuppie is holding some get well ballons! SOO cute! This is such a versatile stamp set and its so great to be able to make some fun and cheery get well cards. I love that this set works well for making a get well set for kids - I made this one for one my son's friends who is under the weather - I tried to make it bright and cheery and fun - but anytime any one of these cuppies gets inked it always is fun :)

Here is a card that I made using Taylor's Friday Cupcake Sketch Challenge #66 (I turned the sketch upside down) and the Boys Will Be Boys set - I LOVE this image of a little patch of golfdom... my DH is a total golf dude and I thought I would make him a just because card - that he is par-fect the way he is :) I love making cards for him!

I pulled out my watercolors for this card - had fun doing a little painting on the green... the flag is paper pieced and I couldn't help putting a little glitter on it --- I know its not very "masculine' perhaps to have glitter on a boy card... but a glitter makes the world sparkle - so why not?! :) The buttons are from the Father's Day Kit - the plaid button is a clear button with DP from the Father's Day Kit.

You have to check out all the images in the this stamp set - because if you are masculine card challenged like me - it is the perfect stamp set to have for all the men/boyz in your life - that and the Father's Day Key Ingredients kit has paper, coordinating ribbon, etc. that makes it super easy to whip out a boy card :)

Get Well Soon Bag - Digi Chick Style

Hi Everyone,

Every Tuesday, Paper Craft Planet holds a challenge called 3D Tuesday - where we try to make anything but a card - this week, our challenge is being sponsored by Kelleigh Ratzlaff from The Digi Chick! Kelleigh has generously offered a $20 gift card to her store for the best bag! In addition, the winner will also get a $5 gift card to ANYTHING on the Digi Chick store!

These templates are AWESOME and so easy! You just print the design on to your patterned paper, cut, score and glue! Presto, you look like Martha Stewart in minutes! If you want to get fancy, you can use digital papers and print it that way, then you always have an instant, printable, bag on hand!

It really is amazing how quick these are to assemble - I made this little puppy in almost 12 minutes after printing it out... Love when that happens :) The papers are from SEI and the sentiment is from the May release of Taylor's newest stamp set: Doctor's Orders from Taylored Expressions.

It's nice to have a little bag on hand to fill with something if someone isn't feeling well - I can't wait to print out a few more of these and play around some more --

So now its your turn! To take the challenge -- create a small gift bag, and upload it to Paper Craft Planet. Use the tag 3d11. You do NOT have to use one of Kelleigh's templates to win -- but they are so easy and fun, we know that you'll want one :) We'll pull it into the album and pull a winner next Tuesday. I can't wait to see what you make!

Check out what the other Supernovas have made:

Taylored Expressions -Day 2 of Sneak Peeks

Good Monday Morning everyone!!!

Are you masculine card challenged?

Because I know I am- lol! - no matter how much I try to make a masculine card - it always ends up being swirly girly whirly.... so I am psyched that Taylor is coming out with a set called Boys Will Be Boys -through her Whimsical Wishes line designed by the uber talednted: Nancy McKinny. This set and the awesome Father's Day Key Ingredients Kit will make it sooo much easier to whip out a "boy" looking card (that still looks "pretty"...ummm... errr... handsome, umm -- err.. masculine... :)

This set features images and sentiments that are not only perfect for Father's Day - but also just regular sentiments for the boyz in your family. One of my favorite image is of the grill with the flame! Couldn't wait to stamp it! As soon as I saw it - I thought of my FIL who is the grill master of the house - and so I made this card for him : "All hail to the Grill Master" - love that sentiment!!! LOL!!!

I cut out the grill with my x-acto knife and then cut out a flame colored by prismas and then stamped the skewers and colored and cut them out and then adhered them after placing them on dimensionals. I used the latest sketch #65 from Taylor's Cupcake Challenges.

I love and hoarde all the Key Ingredients Kits from Taylor (the key Ingredients are kits with coordinating DP and cardstok, ribbon and embellishments. Taylor will also be offering a Father's Day Bundle which will include the metal sheets and a set of assorted charms (like the flipper) - I love the idea of some masculine lookin charms!!!

I LOVE this charm with a little flipper - I attached it to a circle of orange cardstock adhered to one of the buttons from the kit. I cut three strips of metal and attached it on top. I can't wait to give this to my FIL :) There are sooo many cute by boy image in this set - and I Can't wait to try them all!!!
I also couldn't wait to make a special boy page for my DH as part of his Father's Day Present. I made a little 6x6 layout using elements from the Father's Day Kit and using the awesome sketch by Jen T. for her Scrappy Sunday sketch challenges :) For this sketch - I got out two of my fave fave photos of my DH with our son and daughter while we were in Florida. I love the shot of him holding our daughter's hand and walking by the shoreline as the waves are coming in and then the silhouetted picture of him and our sun running on the beach. I had sooo much fun making this page and it was so easy to put together - I was so surprised that I was suddenly done!

I love that about these awesome Key Ingredients - they coordinate and make it easy to get done quick! The journaling reads: "... from the very beginning you have been my best friend and now to see you with our little munchkins always makes me so grateful for your presence.. you are the best dad: always nourishing, fun, patient, sweet and full of quiet wisdome - we love you!" ---- this is fun of my fave layouts that I have done and I can't wait to give it to him - which will be today - since I can't wait till Father's Day!!!

I love the #1 dad sentiment! The star that holds that sentiment is also layered onto a metallic sheet. Love how the metal sheet makes the whole layout bright, shiny and fun :)

I also wanted to display it in the house - so I used the awesome calendar stand that has 6x6 page protectors and 2 hanging binders. I love this stand and it makes displaying your craft work so much fun and easily changeable - just insert a new page - and instantly - a new look!

Taylor is going to be offering a special on the Boys will be Boys set from the stamps, to the metal sheets, to the charms etc. - here's the scoop on the bundle - also don't forget to check out my amazing fellow DT members from Taylor's Baker's Dozen:
